Hi! My name is Kristen. I was born and raised in the Kootenays, and after graduating high school, began my post secondary journey. I attained a Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University, a Masters in Land and Water Systems from the University of British Columbia, and am now in the final stages of becoming a BC Teacher through a Bachelor of Education in high school STEM from Thompson Rivers University. I have several years of experience working in Outdoor Education and the environmental field, from work with the both the provincial and national park agencies, as well as in a guiding setting. When not studying, I can be found in the mountains backcountry skiing, trail running, mountaineering or rock climbing. I also am an artist and enjoy working with acrylic paints (you can see some of my works here) I look forward to sharing my passions for the outdoors and the arts in my teaching practice!
